Virtual Conference 2023 Accreditation FAQs

  • I attended the Virtual Conference with my colleague, can I please get a certificate of attendance?

Additional attendees details can be provided in the end of day survey.

Alternatively, please email beyouevents@beyondblue.org.au with the first name, last name and email address of additional attendees.
  • Is the Be You Virtual Conference accredited with TQI?

The 2023 Be You Virtual Conference is a TQI-accredited event.

You will only receive accredited professional development hours if you watch the Be You Virtual Conference live on 3 and/or 4 May 2022. You will not receive accredited professional development hours for watching the Be You Virtual Conference recordings.

The program Building capacity to thrive has been approved for 7 hours of ACT Teacher Quality Institute accredited professional learning.

An ACT teacher who partially attends is accredited for the hours they attend (full hours only, rounded up), up to the maximum total of 7 hours. If ACT teachers attend one session at the conference, they will qualify for one hour of TQI accredited professional learning. If they attend two sessions, they will qualify for two hours etc. up to 7 hours which is the full conference duration across the two days. The Be You Team will ensure these accredited hours are reported through the TQI portal.

  • I attended the Virtual Conference, when will my attendance be recorded on the TQI portal?

All attendance at the Be You Virtual Conference has been recorded on the TQI portal.

An ACT teacher who partially attends is accredited for the hours they attend (full hours only, rounded up), up to the maximum total of 7 hours, which is the full conference duration across the two days.

If you attended one session at the conference, you will qualify for one hour of TQI accredited professional learning. If you attend two sessions, you will qualify for two hours etc. up to 7 hours.

Please ensure your correct TQI number and State Territory are added to your My Profile page.
  • Is the Be You Virtual Conference accredited with NESA?

Yes, the Be You Virtual Conference is a NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) accredited event.

You will only receive accredited professional development hours if you watched the Be You Virtual Conference live on both 3 and 4 May 2023. You will not receive accredited professional development hours for watching the Be You Virtual Conference recordings.

Completing Be You Virtual Conference 2023 – Building capacity to thrive will contribute 6 hours and 30 minutes of NESA Accredited PD in the priority area of Student/child Mental health addressing standard descriptors 1.1.2 and 4.1.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.

Teachers must participate in the whole conference (whole of day one and whole of day two) to receive accredited hours. The Be You Team will ensure these accredited hours are reported through NESA eTAMS. Please ensure your correct NESA Account Number and State/Territory are added to your My Profile page.

Please note, if you were absent for any part of the course (e.g., you attended two hours on day one and two hours on day two, and missed some of the sessions), the number of hours attended may be recorded as Elective PD through NESA eTAMS. If you attended only one full day of the conference those hours can be recorded as Elective PD through NESA eTAMS. You will not receive accredited professional development hours for partial attendance.

  • I attended the Virtual Conference, when will my attendance be recorded on the NESA portal?

All attendance at the Be You Virtual Conference has been recorded on the NESA portal. If you haven't received accredited hours yet it unfortunately means you didn't meet NESA's requirements for attendance. You can still apply for Elective PD for sessions you did attend.

Please note, NSW teachers must participate in the whole conference to receive accredited hours. If you were absent for any part of the course (e.g., you attended two hours on day one and two hours on day two, and missed some of the sessions), you do not qualify for NESA accredited professional learning for attending the 2023 Virtual Conference.

Partial attendance can be recorded as Elective PD through NESA eTAMS.
