Laying the foundations for success

The first step of the Be You Implementation Process involves laying the foundations for success.

Here are some actions to assist in setting up your learning community for successful implementation of Be You. Choose one, or many, to get things started.

  • Share the What is Be You? video with educators and families
  • Display your Be You Statement of Commitment
  • Encourage educators to register for an individual Be You account
  • Book and attend a Be You Essentials event
  • Watch out for your Be You Welcome Pack in the mail.

Here are some other actions you may wish to take either now, or a little further down the track:

  • Read the Action Team Handbook
  • Book a National Check-in to receive Be You Consultant support
  • Start a Be You Action Plan
  • Share a Be You Fact Sheet or news article with your learning community.

Identify your learning community’s needs

Planning for Be You can contribute to a learning community’s successful implementation over time.

It could also provide meaningful connections with your existing improvement plans. There are various tools that can help you identify priority areas based on existing strengths and areas for future focus.

Every step getting Be You started at your service or school is significant – and is helping to improve mental health literacy.

Each time you reach a milestone acknowledge, consider and celebrate it and let your educators, families, children and young people know the steps you have taken to growing a mentally healthy community.
