Be You helps grow mentally healthy generations by enabling the conditions for long-term wellbeing and educational success. It supports individual settings while advocating for system level change – showing that real impact happens when communities and systems work together.
Be You engages with governments at national, state and territory levels, in addition to health and education sector stakeholders, to inform and influence policies that shape mental health and wellbeing in education settings.
Drawing on evidence, research and the experiences of educators across Australia, we ensure the needs, challenges and perspectives of learning communities are accurately represented in decision making.
Through this work, Be You advocates for policies and practices needed to strengthen mental health and wellbeing across education systems, elevate the education profession and enable system wide change.
Our advocacy priorities include:
- Equipping every learning community with the resources and support needed to nurture the mental health and wellbeing of all children and young people.
- Building a mentally healthy education workforce through systemic support and whole learning community approaches.
- Promoting a nationally coordinated, cross government approach that embeds mental health and wellbeing across education policy, practice and system design.
Be You contributes to policy development through:
- evidence briefings and analysis
- policy proposals and submissions
- articles and thought leadership
- position statements.
