Using Be You Surveys gives educators the opportunity to be open and honest, with their privacy respected. So when using our Surveys, you might get a result you didn't expect.
While this can sometimes be disappointing, it can provide a perfect next step in your mental health and wellbeing journey. Here is an example of how Be You Surveys can support your inclusive practices and embracing diversity within your service.
Considering results
All Action Team Leaders can contact a Be You Consultant to discuss their journey using tools and resources that are available on the Be You website.
In the example below a service worked through questions in the Educator Survey with their Consultant to discover whether they were a mentally healthy community. This allowed the service to concentrate on the area of diversity and inclusion.
Taking the first steps
With an emphasis on continuous improvement, the service decided to use the Implementation and Reflection Tool with educators. By using the reflective questions in this tool, the service could pinpoint where current practice sat and could continue to focus on inclusion and mapping and recording progress as they moved ahead.
Continuing the journey
Educator reflections led the service to begin the Mentally Healthy Communities domain, specifically the Include module. After further conversations, the team recognised inclusion meant more than just considering differences such as gender, abilities, ethnicity and culture.
They would have to dive deeper to understand the importance of a sense of belonging for all in a learning community.
The Disability Inclusion Guide also gave this service a chance to focus and reflect on the use of person first language whilst exploring what diversity and inclusion practices would mean in a whole of service approach.
Join a Be You Conversation to discuss with other educators and Be You Consultants how you can embed diverse and inclusive practices in your learning community.
